...whatever floats my boatDe La Salle University - Manila

This is a long post, so bear with me :)
I tagged along with my friend, Kat, to a book signing event last night at Barnes and Noble in Tribeca. I didn’t know who the authors were at first - they were the Kallinis Sisters of the reality tv show DC Cupcakes. Yeah, kill me…I didn’t know them since I don’t really watch TLC in Manila plus our cable in Manila didn’t have Star World :( So, I got a bit of an idea who they were thanks to my friend and also contemplated on whether I should buy their book.
I ended up buying their book/cookbook :))
After waiting for them, they were a bit late…but it was ok, since they brought along with them boxes of cupcakes! Everyone got to try them out and I got Salted Caramel!
It was delish!! Definitely one of the best cupcakes I’ve ever tried and it was my instant fave! Instant fave since (a) it’s caramel and (b) it’s sooooooo delish!!! And here is my friend, Kat, with her Vanilla Cupcake:

After the cupcake sampling came the book discussion and some Q&As
It was fun listening to them and I felt that the book/cookbook was a must-read for me, even if I just got the book minutes before the event started. I got inspired by them to follow my dream…to also open up a cupcake/pastry business. I’ve been thinking about this dream ever since I realized that I have the skill to bake :)
They were funny and great at talking to people…and needless to say, I became a fan, right there and then.
Then the book signing! We lined up and plucked up the courage to actually talk to them - small talk since the line was getting long - and said that their show is being aired in Manila. They were very surprised and happy to hear that a lot of people (not including me) watched their show. I got a little fangirl-y and told them that if they think of going international, they must go to the Philippines :))
We left the event with another cupcake in hand (Red Velvet, the yummiest I’ve ever tried!) and smiles on our faces :)) We looked like crazed fans walking to the subway and fantasizing on opening our own business like theirs. Needless to say, we got inspired.
And now, they (Georgetown Cupcakes) are hiring! (So, I guess the sugar hype isn’t out of my system yet) And me and Kat are contemplating whether we should send out our resumes to them :))
